Quinacridone Violet Goes Big

24″ X 48″ Birch Panel

This piece taught me some interesting new things. The drying time, the amount of paint needed and the mix of dryer all allowed this piece to be finished in 3 days! I could have “played” with the composition much longer but it was out of my hands. I always struggle with where I need to stop, so that was a wonderful new (almost) freedom.

If you are familiar with my painting history many of the larger pieces in oil took 3 months to complete and cure.

For 3 days all I had on my mind was this painting. While eating, walking, working and gardening I was rethinking this painting and this process.

I hope I can sell it and afford to buy more art supplies!

Remember

think good thoughts because it really matters.
